Disney have 22 on-site hotels which are owned and managed by the park. All of Disney's resort hotels are themed and are classified in five different bands, these are;

Disney's Polynesian Resort
The Polynesian resort was opened with the park on October 1st 1971, it's themed on the south seas. It has had two refurbishments since. Its located on the seven seas lagoon just minutes from the Magic Kingdom park. Has a monorail station for easy transportation to the Magic kingdom aswell as the transportation & ticket centre with ongoing transport to Epcot via monorail & other parks via the bus/boat services.

The resort has a number of shops and recreational activities including a beautiful white sand beach facing the seven seas lagoon. The resort has two full service restaurants and one quick service restaurant.

Did you know? John Lennon signed the agreement to end the Beatles while staying at the polynesian resort in 1974. His was the last signature on the agreement thus ending the Beatles at the polynesian resort in Disneyworld, Orlando.
Disney Animal Kingdom lodge
Disney's Animal Knigdom lodge is one of the newest resort hotels having opened in 2001. Located next to the Animal Kingdom theme park its the ideal location for access to the park and Disney's Blizzard Beach waterpark. The resort is African themed and home to veriety of wild animals.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Themed as the Pacific North-West, Disney's Wilderness lodge is a hugely popular resort. located near to the Magic Kingdom, its built on nearly 54 acres of land. You can access the Magic Kingdom directly via boat from the Wilderness lodge.

Disney's Beach Club Resort
This resort was opened in 1990 and is located in the Epcot area. Its actual location is on crescent lake which is ideal for access to either Epcot or Disney's Hollywood studios parks, both of which are within walking distance of the resort.

Disney's Boardwalk Inn
One of the smallest resorts at Walt Disney World with 378 guest rooms. It's located in the Epcot area and is within walking distance of both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood studios although a free boat service is available from the resort to both parks.The resort is set in a 1920's waterfront village theme built on the edge of an outstanding waterfront.

Disney's Contemporary Resort
This resort opened with the Magic Kingdom on October 1st 1971, It was one of only two hotels that were available upon the park opening. This resort is located adjacent to the Magic Kingdom and is within walking distance of the entrance. It was designed and built with a modern theme in mind and that is still the case today, a very attractive and upmarket resort. The resort has it's own monorail station which is located in the main tower, the monorail runs right through the centre of the main tower and is a distinct feature of the resort. Aswell as the monorail there is also bus transportation to the other parks and boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom park.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
This in my opinion is the best resort at Walt Disney World. It is also considered by many guests as the flagship resort and the room costs usually relfect that! Its located in the Magic Kingdom area, situated just off the seven seas lagoon. The resort has it's own monorail station making easy access to the magic Kingdon & Epcot parks aswell as the transportation & ticket centre. The resort has a large spa area where guests can access a wide range of massages & treatments at an extra cost.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort
This resort is located in the Epcot area at Walt Disney World. The resort is within walking distance of Epcot and has free Disney transportation to all of the other Disney parks. There is also free boat transportation from the Yacht Club resort to both Epcot & Disney's Hollywood studios parks.

Located in the Epcot area at Walt Disney World this resort is one of the largest with over 2000 rooms. The resort is themed on tropical Caribbean islands and is an ideal location if you want to relax after a busy few days in the parks. Disney's Port Orleans Resort
This resort is located in the Downtown Disney area of the park. It's split up into two different themed resorts - French Quarter and Riverside Resort. The Riverside Resort is the larger of the two resorts with 2048 guest rooms. The resort is themed on New Orleans and the Old South.

Disney's Beach Club Villa's is located in the Epcot area at Walt Disney World. The resort consists of 282 villa's themed on Newport Resort. This resort is one of the newer constructions having only been opened in 2002.

Located in the Downtown Disney area of Walt Disney World this resort offers 1260 Villas. The resort opened in 2004 and is still undergoing construction. The resort is ideally located for Downtown Disney and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park.

This resort is the most recent contruction, the first phase was opened in 2007 with further phases due for completion in the next few years. There is a plan for 458 Villa's once the construction is completed. The resort is located in the Animal Kingdom area of the park.
